Busy Penn Township intersection closed Wednesday for paving

A section of Airport and East Airport Roads in Penn Township will be closed at the intersection with Route 8 starting Wednesday morning, July 3, to allow for paving.

This is part of a traffic signal replacement project for the intersection of Route 8 and Airport Road.

“We trust the new traffic lights will provide permanent safety and traffic flow improvements,” wrote Penn Township Supervisor Samuel Ward in a Tuesday, July 2 news release. “We anticipate that the new traffic poles will be fabricated and delivered in the next few months. Once they are available, the traffic lights will be completed in about three weeks.”

Ward estimated the intersection would reopen before the end of the day Wednesday.
