Super load will be trucking through county Tuesday

A tractor-trailer pulling a super load will travel east on Interstate 80 through parts of Butler County and surrounding counties Tuesday, causing likely traffic stoppages and delays, according to PennDOT.

Southern Pines Trucking of Aliquippa is hauling the super load, which is 136 feet long and nearly 28 feet wide and weighs 150 tons, from Columbiana, Ohio, to Allegheny County.

It is expected to travel through portions of Mercer, Venango, Butler, Clarion, Indiana, Jefferson, Westmoreland and Allegheny counties.

The super load will travel 25 to 30 mph as a rolling slowdown using two traffic lanes that will result in traffic stoppages and travel delays.

The load will travel on Interstate 80 to Exit 78 in Jefferson County. It will continue through Jefferson County on Routes 36 South, 436 South and 119 South into Indiana County where it will take Route 22 West through Westmoreland County and into Allegheny County.
