Butler County Commissioner Leslie Osche confirmed Wednesday, Sept. 25, former President Donald Trump will be returning to the Butler Farm Show Grounds in Connoquenessing Township on Oct. 5.

Osche said she was able to confirm the Trump campaign’s return to Butler County this morning after a phone conversation with Butler Farm Show representatives.

“I honestly am not surprised because he said he would return,” Osche said.

Trumps return to Butler County will come nearly three months after holding a campaign rally on July 13, when the event abruptly ended when the former president was nearly assassinated by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park.

The gunshots fired by Crooks killed Buffalo Township resident Corey Comperatore and injured James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township and David Dutch, 57, of New Kensington. Crooks was killed by a Secret Service countersniper team.

Details about the rally were not available Wednesday.
