Fugitive arrested after domestic dispute at home

James Bernard Lee-Livingston

A Pine Township, Allegheny County man with outstanding criminal charges was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 25, following a chase with police that shut down intersections in and just south of Adams Township in Butler County.

James Bernard Lee-Livingston, 28, was taken into custody hours after the Northern Regional Police Department deployed tactical assets to perform a welfare check on a female at the Pine Township residence.

Northern Regional Police Chief Bryan DeWick said the incident took hours and closed several roads — including some in southern Butler County.

He said his department left upon ensuring the female’s safety and did not interact with Lee-Livingston.

At about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Allegheny County detectives observed Lee-Livingston exit a Pine Township residence and approach an Uber driver who had pulled into the driveway. Detectives conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle while it was still in the driveway of the home.

Lee-Livingston exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, running up the driveway and through the backyard of the home before he was apprehended.

Lee-Livingston has been a fugitive since a bench warrant was issued concerning a probation violation connected to a December 2023 guilty plea involving a DUI charge. He also has an active warrant out of Pittsburgh on drug charges and a firearms violation.

Following the arrest, Lee-Livingston was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

Roads were closed due to “significant police presence” in Pine Township, Allegheny County and Adams Township, Butler County, the Adams Area Fire District said in a Facebook post. Affected intersections included Mars-Valencia Road at Downieville and Camp Trees roads; Babcock Boulevard at Three Degree Road and James Street and Babcock Boulevard in the area of Old State Road to the Red Belt.

The fire district helped divert traffic and advised drivers to take alternate routes.
