Elon Musk, others on the list to attend Butler County Trump rally
Elon Musk, the owner of several technology companies, announced via X, formerly Twitter, that he will attend the rally for former President Donald Trump on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Butler Farm Show.
Musk hosted Trump for an interview broadcast on X, which took place shortly after the July 13 rally at the Butler Farm Show grounds. It was in that interview that Trump said he would return to Butler County in October.
The Trump campaign lists myriad other special gusts coming to the rally, including Trump’s Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance; relatives of Corey Comperatore, the Buffalo Township man who died in the gunfire at the July 13 rally; and one of the other two surviving victims of the gunfire at that rally, David Dutch.
Trump’s website also lists several other U.S. officials, Pennsylvania officials as well as several Butler County officials.
Helen Comperatore, Corey Contempore’s widow, said it was a difficult decision, and she feels somewhat apprehensive, but she plans to attend the Trump rally on Saturday.
She said she won’t let fear stand in the way of returning to the Butler Farm Show grounds. Comperatore said if given the opportunity, she would agree to speak to the crowd.
Trump’s campaign also lists the mother of Marc Fogel, the Butler man being detained in Russia, Malphine Fogel as a rally guest, but Malphine Fogel told the Eagle she isn’t planning on attending.
Some people listed among Trump’s special guests are going to address the crowd as well, including Butler Township Commissioner Sam Zurzolo, and Slippery Rock Mayor JD Longo.
“I’m going to say a few words of encouragement of Trump, JD Vance and the police,” Zurzolo said.
