Seneca Valley mounts comeback win

Seneca Valley erased a 17-point, third-quarter deficit to stun Canon-McMillan 31-30 Friday night in a Quad County Conference football clash at NexTier Stadium.

Seneca Valley quarterback Andrew Loebig produced two second-half touchdowns, including a game-winner late in the fourth quarter on a 39-yard strike to receiver Brayden Wise. His first rushing TD, covering 3 yards, began the comeback in the third and cut the Big Macs’ (2-5, 1-2) lead to 27-17.

Reese Fatur also returned an interception 15 yards to pay dirt for the Raiders’ second touchdown of the third quarter.

Loebig finished 8 of 15 passing for 86 yards and the TD and ran nine times for 33 yards. Wise finished with two catches for 43 yards.

SV’s run game produced two 100-yard rushers in this one. Chase Mazanek had 22 carries for 120 yards, and Cayden Parker carried the rock 19 times for 116 yards, including a first-quarter score.

The Raiders (2-4, 2-1 in conference) host Hempfield on Friday.

Central Valley 46, North Catholic 38 — Joey Felitsky returned to North’s lineup and tossed touchdown passes to four different receivers, but the Trojans were unable to keep up with the host Warriors (3-4, 3-1) Friday night.

Catching scoring aerials for the Trojans were Logan Shade (49 yards), Tom Arth (60), Ryker Kennedy (21) and Will Waskiewicz (4). Arth added a short scoring run.

Felitsky passed for 381 yards in the loss.

North was done in by Central Valley’s running game, led by Mason Dixon’s 284 yards and four touchdowns.

The Trojans (3-4, 2-1) host Beaver on Friday.
