Seneca Valley discusses grants

JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley School District directors discussed several grant applications during a meeting Monday, Oct. 7.

One of the grants, for $232,668, would help pay school security officers.

A $7,447 grant would help fund hands-on learning opportunities involving aquaponics, garden beds and embryology.

A $2,500 grant would support Haine Middle School’s “Shop with a Cop” event with Cranberry Township Police Department.

A $1,000 grant would be used to purchase a set of graphic novels about the Holocaust as part of the 10th-grade curriculum. The Holocaust Curriculum and LIGHT Center Development Grant also would fund the programming and provide transportation to the Holocaust Center.
