Minnesota Gov. and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz touched on farming, investment in rural communities and the potential effects of the implementation of Project 2025 at a campaign event at Telesz Farms Tuesday, Oct. 15 in Lawrence County.

Walz spoke for about 30 minutes to a group of people at the farm, many sporting clothing with camo patterns, as well as overalls and boots, demonstrating their rural lives.

Prior to Walz's entrance, Slippery Rock resident Georgia Yeamans said she hoped to see Walz get "riled up" on issues like abortion, the economy and voting integrity.

"Corporations are not people is something I'd like to hear," Yeamans said.

Walz, the governor of Minnesota, is campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris with events beginning at Telesz Farms in Volant and ending in Pittsburgh Tuesday.

Walz is expected to participate in a political event in Butler County on Tuesday afternoon. A time and place for the event were not announced.

Walz is to attend a 5 p.m. campaign rally in Pittsburgh and end his night with a campaign reception, according to a news release from the Harris campaign.
