Ballot site open through Election Day

Butler County voters can drop off their 2024 general election mail-in ballots at a staffed and secured location in the Butler Bureau of Elections parking lot, 227 W. Cunningham St., from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday.

County election workers will be on hand to collect and time-stamp ballots in the parking lot site. The drop-off service had been scheduled through Monday, and the bureau recently announced the hours of operation for Tuesday.

Before voters drop off their ballots, they must complete the ballot, place it in the secrecy envelope and seal the envelope, but not sign or mark the envelope, according to the bureau. Next, voters must place the secrecy envelope in the purple declaration envelope, seal that envelope, and sign and date it.

Voters are permitted to return only their own ballot. If a voter has completed authorization forms to return a ballot on behalf of someone who is physically unable to do so, they must go into the election bureau office and return the ballot at the counter. The bureau urges voters to submit their ballots prior to Election Day.
