Cranberry Township looking for help with Snow Angels program

In the words of the show “Game of Thrones,” “winter is coming,” and Cranberry Township is always in need of “Snow Angels” — volunteers to help shovel snow for residents who can’t do it for themselves.

The Snow Angels program matches elderly or disabled residents with a volunteer who will assist in removing snow and ice from their sidewalks and driveways, in a similar vein to the “Leaf Angels” program that sends volunteers to rake fallen leaves.

The township has been accepting applications for volunteers for the Snow Angels program since Monday, Nov. 4, and will begin accepting applications for Snow Angels requests on Monday, Nov. 18. All volunteers must complete the online application, which can be found on the township’s website.
