Margaret Yates
Margaret Ellen (Alday) Yates, 80, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, in Pittsburgh.
She was born on July 17, 1944, in Erie.
Margaret was a loving mother, known for her warmth and dedication to her family. She was an avid sports fan and was always present and involved in her two sons’ sporting events.
Margaret graduated from Fairview High School in 1962 and furthered her education at Grove City College. She dedicated many years of service as part of the support staff at Haine Elementary School and later shared her expertise in real estate with the Murray Agency.
She was a passionate breeder and trainer of Labrador retrievers, preparing them for field trials, hunt tests and service roles, demonstrating her deep love for these animals and her commitment to enhancing their abilities. Her greatest achievement was training four Master level retrievers.
Margaret is survived by her longtime companion, James Liviskie; sons, Robert Yates (Kristi) and John Yates (Dawn); grandsons, Wyatt and Jacob; granddaughter, India; and great-grandsons, Landon and Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Catherine Alday.
YATES — Arrangements for Margaret Ellen (Alday) Yates, who died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, have been entrusted to BURTON FUNERAL HOME, Girard. A private family service will be held to honor Margaret's life.

Margaret's legacy will live on through her family and the many lives she touched with her charitable spirit and love for animals.
