The holiday season kicks off in many Butler County municipalities directly after Thanksgiving Day.

Holiday festivities this upcoming weekend include parades in Butler and Saxonburg, and light-up nights in Mars and Evans City are planned for this weekend.

Saxonburg

Saxonburg’s holiday parade will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, during the borough’s holiday market that will take place on Main Street at 5 p.m.

The market features local artisans, and food and drink vendors.

The parade will take off from the Saxonburg carnival grounds, and travel down Main Street.

After the parade, families can join Santa Claus for cookies at the South Butler Community Library.
