Mars looking to stuff cruiser with Toys for Tots

The back seat of a Mars police car is seen filled with donated toys for Toys For Tots in 2023.

The borough of Mars is looking for toys to donate to children in need this holiday season. The borough’s toy drive, which kicked off in late November, concludes on Saturday, Dec. 7, with the police department’s fourth-annual “Stuff-A-Cruiser” event.

There are multiple “Toys for Tots” boxes conveniently placed around the borough to drop off a toy, including the borough office on Arch Street and Mars Area Public Library on Grand Avenue. Toys also can be donated during the Stuff-A-Cruiser event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mayor Gregg Hartung said the borough is asking that the toys be unwrapped so that they are plainly exposed upon donation.

“It has to be unwrapped so that people can clearly see their toys and know what they are,” Hartung said. “There’s no limit in terms of how many toys people can give.”
