Callery leaders have set a new date for the official dedication of its veterans memorial, which has been in the works for more than three years. The new date for the dedication has been set for 1 p.m. on May 18.

The dedication was originally to take place on Nov. 10, the day before Veterans Day, but was delayed at the last minute after some key guests canceled their appearance.

The monument itself, located outside the Callery municipal building on Railroad Street, has been a work in progress for three years, and has undergone numerous delays.

At one point, the monument was set by be finished around Memorial Day of 2023.
