Harmony welcomes new business

For Laura Reid Riggin, owner of Woodville House Kitchens @ Gally Hill Station, changing locations doesn’t just bring more opportunities for the business, but it brings her closer to home and her husband.

Reid Riggin is currently in the process of moving her kitchen and bath design studio from Bridgeville, Allegheny County, to the small and quaint setting of Harmony, specifically at 562 Main St., Suite 2.

“I work with people on the design, color selection, lighting, faucets and flooring, and the whole package for their kitchen and bathroom projects,” Reid Riggin said. “Other than a big box store where they would just go and buy some cabinets, I do the whole package for them.”

She helped open up the business 16 years ago with the previous owner, but about a year and a half ago she bought the business herself.

“I have been in this industry for 41 years,” Reid Riggin said. “This is just where I ended up after working at different places.”

Ending up in Harmony makes a lot of sense for Reid Riggin, as she is able to better serve her customers with a new design studio, while being closer to her home in Cranberry Township, and her husband George, who owns George Riggin Specialty Auto across the street from her Harmony location.

“I'm really excited to be in a neighborhood,” Reid Riggin said. “We are going to be doing some cooking classes, wine tastings to involve the community and get them familiar with my business.”

Her Harmony location is not open to the public yet, but she anticipates it to be open in the later part of January 2025.

Right now, she is the business’ only employee, and she intends to keep it that way, for the time being, to help provide a more personalized touch to her clients.

“I intend to keep the business small because I am very involved with my clients and their decision-making … I intend to keep it small and intimate,” she said.
