A Vermont woman was arrested Feb. 8 at Grove City College after police said she posted a threat about possibly shooting up a school.

Grove City police arrested Ellen I. Otterman, 21, of Barre, on misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

Police were contacted by the FBI about a Snapchat post with a selfie of a woman wearing a gray hoodie and black medical mask. The post said “Am I ill or about to shoot up a school? Stay tuned for updates,” according to an affidavit.

Using GPS data forwarded by Snapchat, her account was located inside Pew Fine Arts Center on campus, and Otterman was arrested as she left the building and walked to her vehicle that was parked in front, according to the affidavit.

Police said she admitted to creating the post.
