CALLERY – A pickup truck crashed into a house Thursday, Feb. 27, along Mars-Evans City Road causing structural damage, the fire chief said.

Callery Volunteer Fire Company Chief Curt Huffman said one firefighter suffered minor injuries responding to the call around 8:40 p.m. Crews were dispatched for a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck into a house along Mars-Evans City Road.

Huffman said the driver and the one occupant in the home were uninjured.

He said the driver left the roadway and struck a garage across from the house before crashing into the house. The foundation, first floor, electric and gas lines were damaged, he said. Penn Power and Peoples Gas were called to shut off the lines.

The road was closed for about two hours due to the number of fire trucks that responded, Huffman said. Crews were on scene about two and a half hours.

Adams Area Fire District, Evans City Area Volunteer Fire Department, the Southern Butler County Technical Rescue Team and SAFER Group also responded.
