Free museum admissions this weekend
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission will celebrate the state’s 344th birthday on Sunday, March 9, with free admission to several state museums and historic sites.
The original 1681 charter, Pennsylvania’s “birth certificate,” will be on display from noon to 4 p.m. at the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg.
The list of state museums include the following:

• Cornwall Iron Furnace, Cornwall
• Drake Well Museum, Titusville
• Eckley Miners’ Village, Weatherly
• Ephrata Cloister, Ephrata
• Erie Maritime Museum, Erie
• Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum, Lancaster
• Pennsbury Manor, Morrisville
• Pennsylvania Anthracite Heritage Museum, Scranton
• Pennsylvania Lumber Museum, Ulysses
• Pennsylvania State Archives, Harrisburg
• Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, Strausburg
