Michael R. Zahorchak, “Minky,” 82, of Edinboro, formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 15, 2025, at UPMC Passavant Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

Mike was born Sept. 13, 1942, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Michael and Ruth (Kretzler) Zahorchak. He married the former Kathleen O’Brien on April 24, 1965, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 2022.

Mike graduated from Quaker Valley High School and went on to Edinboro State College, where he earned a bachelor’s in education. He spent his entire teaching career as an art teacher for the Ambridge Area School District.

Mike was an avid record collector, he also liked to occasionally go fishing and do art projects.

He leaves behind two sons, Quinn Zahorchak (Mary Beth) and Brien Zahorchak (Dawn), both of Cranberry Township; a brother, Thomas Zahorchak (Claudia) of Fort Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ZAHORCHAK — A celebration of life for Michael R. Zahorchak, “Minky,” who died Saturday, March 15, 2025, will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by HAROLD W. STEVENSON FUNERAL HOME, 264 E. State St., Sharon.
