Lightning strikes attic causing Saturday morning fire in Cranberry Township

An attic was struck by lightning early Saturday morning, April 5, in Cranberry Township, prompting responses from five fire companies.

The call came in around 3:54 a.m. Saturday near the 600 block of Toftree Drive for a house struck by lightning, according to Butler County Emergency Dispatch reports. The responding units from the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company split to attack the fire and secure a larger water supply, according to its Facebook post.

Adams Area Fire District and Harmony Fire District arrived at the same time and continued securing entry into the attic from the roof, according to an Adams Area Fire District post on Facebook.
