Seneca Valley’s Gracie Cato, Knoch’s Teegan Finucan ‘do good for a good cause’ at charity basketball game
Seneca Valley’s Gracie Cato and Knoch’s Teegan Finucan took part in the inaugural CJ2K Vs. The World “Bigger Than Basketball” Charity Classic at Aliquippa High School.
The event featured players from the WPIAL and District 10, and the proceeds benefited the Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital Foundation.
“I love to help out people in need, and I feel like a bunch of the other girls were excited to do the same thing while playing the sport we love,” Cato said.
“It’s just to a good cause and charity,” Finucan said. “It didn’t matter who won or what. There was a higher moral to it rather than a win or a loss. ... We all just competed just to not only have fun, (but to) just do good for a good cause.”
The teams had rotations and players were switched out regularly throughout the contests.
“It was a really well put-together event, and I’m hearing that it might become annual,” Finucan said.
