2 men charged with theft of more than $50,000 in guns from Cranberry Township home

Two men were charged in the theft of guns valued at more than $50,000 from a Cranberry Township residence.

Coby S. Andrzejewski, 22, of Waterford, and Mathew M. Snippert, 24, of Erie, were both charged with one felony count each of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft, conspiracy to commit theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy to receive stolen property; and one misdemeanor count each of criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit criminal mischief related to a March 25 burglary in Cranberry Township.

Police said the two men destroyed a basement window and stole 19 functional rifles and shotguns from a home on Plains Church Road. Police said the combined value of the guns was $51,352, and the cost to repair the window was about $750.

Police said they traveled to two Erie County homes on April 2 and spoke to both men. Police said both men admitted to committing the burglary. Snippert had 11 of the firearms at his residence and Andrzejewski had eight of the firearms at his residence.

Snippert’s and Andrzejewski’s preliminary hearings are both scheduled for 10 a.m. May 16 before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
