Denny’s to close 150 locations
Breakfast restaurant chain Denny’s announced Tuesday, Oct. 22, that it will close 150 restaurants across the country during the next year.
The company estimates 50 locations are set to close by the end of 2024, while the remaining 100 will shutter in 2025.
The 150 closures represent one-tenth of the 71-year-old chain’s locations nationwide and will leave 1,375 in operation once the closures are complete.
A list of locations scheduled to close has not been released. The only Denny’s location in Butler County is at 1346 Old Freedom Road in Cranberry Township.
“We believe this is absolutely the right thing to do to make our system stronger,” company CEO Kelli Valade said in opening a daylong meeting with investors.
The chain also announced it is loosening its open 24/7 standards, giving locations more freedom in deciding if the concept is right for them.
