Movie on miraculous adoption to play in Winfield Township

The movie “Sound of Hope, the Story of Possum Trot” will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Winfield Township, in the church hall.

Free pizza, popcorn and beverages will be available for the movie, which is rated PG-13.

The story recounts an event that took place in 1996 in the woods of Possum Trot in East Texas, when 22 families linked arms and adopted 77 of the most difficult-to-place children in the state’s foster system.

The group’s courage and faith ignited a national movement to solve the foster care crisis and change lives for vulnerable children across the U.S., according to a news release from the church.

A G-rated movie will be available for children too young to watch the main feature.

Registration is recommended by emailing outreach@saintfrancisparish.net.
