Cranberry Township man arrested in terroristic threats case

A Cranberry Township man is accused of threatening the life of a friend’s boyfriend via a voicemail, according to charges filed Nov. 22 by police.

Justin David Pritchard, 31, was charged with terroristic threats and harassment after police were called to listen to the voicemail, which police said detailed a threat to kill the alleged victim.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Cranberry police, upon arriving at the home on Oct. 16, police heard a two-minute voicemail the alleged victim said he received around 2 a.m. that same day. In the voicemail, the male caller threatened to leave a “6-inch gash” in the victim’s abdomen.

The caller also said that he knew where the alleged victim lives and the type of car he owns, police said.

The alleged victim identified the caller as Pritchard, advising that he is a friend of his girlfriend’s.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Pritchard in front of District Judge Kevin Flaherty on Jan 17. Information on whether Pritchard was in custody was not provided.
